I have to confess to finding these videos on the Gina Cobb blog (she’s excellent!). The vids contain horror stories by Canadians’ revealing the truth about their nationalized health care system.
The speakers give you a sobering glimpse of life–and death–under Obamacare:
I don’t necessarily agree with the conclusions of the folks at Global Research, but their research and analysis of what’s going on are impeccable.
Here’s Chris Hedges on the ongoing G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, and the martial law surrounding the city to prevent protests–or for that matter, any opinion that runs counter to theres (the media are in their hip pocket for the most part):
The delegates to the G-20, the gathering of the world’s wealthiest nations, will consequently be protected by a National Guard combat battalion, recently returned from Iraq. The battalion will shut down the area around the city center, man checkpoints and patrol the streets in combat gear. Pittsburgh has augmented the city’s police force of 1,000 with an additional 3,000 officers. Helicopters have begun to buzz gatherings in city parks, buses driven to Pittsburgh to provide food to protesters have been impounded, activists have been detained, and permits to camp in the city parks have been denied. Web sites belonging to resistance groups have been hacked and trashed, and many groups suspect that they have been infiltrated and that their phones and e-mail accounts are being monitored.
Obama and the Demofiends are about to jettison another erstwhile ally to the winds of cowardice and political expediency. I lived through the last such betrayal when a hugely Democratic Congress cut off funds to help Saigon defend itself against the onrushing Vietcong and North Vietnamese regulars. The end came swifty, with the nightly news full of footage (black and white film was used in those days) of helicopters fleeing the rooftop of the U.S. Embassy as our rats evacuated the sinking ship of freedom along the South China Sea.
This time the Fiends will betray Hamid Karzai, his capital of Kabul and the entire people of Afghanistan as they refuse to pay the price for freedom, in that country and on our shores, where Osama bin Laden and company will soon reappear. (Certainly, Osama wouldn’t set foot here except as conquering hero, but his minions will be back once Afghanistan is secure in Taliban/al Qaede hands.)
This time, you can be sure there won’t be any Boat People, but there will be ships and airlines ferrying our troops and our allies’ troops back home.
I imagine Obama will set up some kind of face-saving surrender, such as supposedly "training" and equipping Afghani forces to defend the country as we systematically pull our troops out. Then we’ll leave behind a contingent of "advisors" that can be rapidly evacuated as the Taliban descend on Kabul.
This time, however, there will be no dramatic television footage. The evacuation will take place stealthily, under the cover of darkness, and Western journalists will be in tow.
Look for this to happen sometime after the 2010 election unless (a huge unless) the Republicans reseize control of at least one house of Congress.
In other words, the Fall of Saigon Redux is dead certain to happen.
For all of you who say it can’t happen here, well, it certainly is–right in front of your eyes–but you’re either in denial or cheering it on because Saint Obama is beyond criticism.
Here’s how it goes, thanks to Disinter and YouTube:
A Houston man was handcuffed and assaulted by cops for posting anti-Obama flyers around his town, actions described as criminal vandalism by police and some local residents, despite the fact that giant pro-Obama murals are openly displayed in the same neighborhood for all to see.
Yup, in Canada (like North Korea and other bastions of freedom), you can serve hard time for what you think, especially if it’s politically incorrect.
The Orwellian-named Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) has the right to drag you and your dastardly thoughts before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal to be convicted for wrong thinking and sent off to the hinterlands for hard labor and re-education. Actually, they have a right to convict you without your even being in the courtroom. You get to watch on a video from another room while the kangaroo proceedings agree, "Yup, he’s a menace to free society." (I hope they gag when they still consider a society "free" that engages in this kind of stuff.)
Probably most Americans are blithely unaware of this aspect of Canadian society–the Star Chamber-redux approach to silencing dissent. I certainly was until I stumbled upon a column by journalist Mark Steyn reporting on a recent such Star Chamber escapade that actually may have marked the end of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal’s power under Section 13 of its charter. Section 13 proved quite effective and had resulted in a 100-percent conviction rate for human rights speech violations, all conveniently lumped under the category of human rights and hate crimes.
The monumental Section 13-enfeebling case involved an individual with whom some of us no doubt might disagree, but the last time I checked, both here and in Canada, there’s something called free speech, which is legally protected unless it’s libel or slander or inciting to riot or revolution (even in the latter two, I have my doubts they should be prohibited–what was it that the Colonists did but incite to riot and revolution?).
The individual under trial was Marc Lemire, author of freedomsite.org, accused of all kinds of hatemongering, slander, incitement, you know, whatever they wanted to call him and his oeuvre. (Read his blog about the trial.)
This video clip is a fun but terrifying look at public statements made by a mob boss and by union boss Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO. See if you can pick who said what?
("Should it be this hard to tell the difference?" is the motto of the clip.)
Confronted by the Russian Bear, Obama blinked. Typically, Russia responded by saying no concessions or tits-for-tat were required on its side. Meaning, basically, that it will continue to aid and abet Iran in nuclearizing its country and its weapons system.
On paper, Obama closed one proposed U.S. radar station in the Czech Republic and ten proposed antiballistic missiles in Poland, but in substance, he gave in to the Russians and mumbled something about devising a better system. Any bets on when we’re here concrete plants on that system?
The Twelfth of Never gets my vote.
After all, Obama and his gang are too busy preparing for a summit at Camp David with Osama bin Laden.
Gotta get that Nobel Peace Prize one way or another, right?
