Did you know that the first time you submitted a Form 1040 to pay your taxes or get your refund that you then signed off to "voluntarily" pay income taxes to Uncle Sam? And likewise, before you did that, you were not obligated to pay taxes, nor did you agree to be a citizen and resident (actually, a corporation, but more later) of the "federal" United States?

Yes, your taxes are all "voluntary," but you can go to prison–natch–if you fail to volunteer.

Interesting, isn’t it? But it is all spelled out in a Supreme Court case that took up a man’s challenge to the 16th Amendment, the one that Congress wrote to enable income taxes to be collected without state-by-state apportionment and thus avoid unconstitutionality (complicated this, but I’ll give you some links in a minute).

The court case in question, Brushaber v. Union Pacific Railroad, resulted in a bunch of confusing doublespeak, but it led to the issuing of Treasury Decision 2313 that set up the filing of a 1040 as a voluntary decision to be both a resident and citizen of the "federal" United States subject to taxation, just as a federal corporation would be so taxed.

Aye, see, therein lies the rub: Brushaber decided only that federal corporations could be taxed (with excise, aka income, taxes), but since Brushaber himself was a nonresident alien, the IRS has consistently held that the ruling does not apply to natural born citizens.

Cute trick, huh? The IRS evidently incorporated all of us as federal corporations so as to tax us, but also conveniently used the ruse that once you file taxes, you’ve volunteered to become a citizen and resident of the United States who pays income taxes.

Here’s another little secret: Internal Revenue Code section 5.3.5, 26 USC 6013, allows you to opt out of this citizen-resident-volunteer status.

Of course, if you try it, you’ll end up in prison like Arthur Farnsworth, who is being released in prison today, on Tax Day, after serving two years in the slammer.

Is this a great country or what?

Look for groveling, appeasement, bribery, "assistance" programs, and well, basically just giving up before they start. They’ll come up with some sort of euphemism for capitulation and proclaim it a great victory when they allow Kim and his cronies to have all the nuclear weapons and missiles their little ol’ heart desires.

This just in: "North Korea Orders Nuclear Inspectors Out."

North Korea ordered International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors out of the country Tuesday. The decision ends international monitoring of a research reactor at Yongbyon and in theory could allow reprocessing of fuel rods to produce plutonium.

The on-again, off-again inspections at the 5-megawatt Experimental Nuclear Reactor Plant and the Nuclear Fuel Fabrication Plant at Yongbyon resumed in October, soon after the U.S. announced it would remove North Korea from the State Department list of countries that sponsor terrorism.

I believe Barack Hussein Obama to be a tyrant, communist and anti-American fiend at heart, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. In this video from the G-20 Summit in London, Obama enters the scene at about the 55-second frame and appears to bow deeply before Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah, which a loyal Muslim subject would do. Gina Cobb, among others, is questioning Obama’s motives–was he doing so because he at heart is also a Muslim follower or is it something he often does before the leaders of the world? I’d have to see other footage of Obama’s meeting other world leaders to determine, but I do know that it’s quite common for Asians to bow before one another while greeting each other. Generally, though, the inferior person bows more deeply while the superior hardly cranes his cranium.

He’s gone from Hosanna Obama, savior of mankind, to Mikhail Obama, technocrat of American socialism, to Don Obama, knight of the Global Warming Industry (GWI). He’s still all three, of course, depending on what he’s saying or doing at the present moment, but Barack Hussein Obama, in his current incarnation as Don Obama, the Man of LaSaveya, is the most bizarre yet–but it’s all still a piece of the whole cloth, sadly.

Literally, my mouth dropped today when I stumbled upon a Wall Street Journal story proclaiming that "Obama to Look at Climate Engineering." I immediately conjured images of a modern-day Don Quixote riding off in a space shuttle to battle the evil atmosphere and tilt at the sun to restore our climate.

Turns out that Obama’s witch doctor (aka science adviser), someone named John Holdren (who’s probably not sane, or insane enough to realize he can profit from myth-making), envisions "shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun’s rays" and planting "artificial trees to suck carbon dioxide out of the air and store it." Frankly, the only thing this guy has been sucking is noxious weed–and taxpayer dollars.

Recall, folks, that in April 1975 Newsweek predicted, with "solid" scientific backing and proof, the onset of the second Ice Age.

Scientists were evidently as unknowing, stupid and diabolical back then as they are now–at least the ones who covet media and political power.

Global warming appears to be Obama’s smokescreen, just as terrorism was for George Bush. Bush used his smokescreen to cover up the rape of the nation’s wealth by the banks and Wall Street, and egregiously, Obama is using it to pay back the banks for that rape–so he can enslave all of us to government and permanent Democratic rule under the rubric of "entitlement."

They can tilt at celestial windmills–and uncatchable terrorists–at our expense, while all we get to do is suck at the teat of government dependency.

Fed Chief Ben Bernanke has embarked on the most radical and ruinous financial rescue plan in history. According to Bloomberg News, the Fed has already lent or committed $12.8 trillion trying to stabilize the financial system after the bursting of Wall Street’s speculative mega-bubble. Now Bernanke wants to dig an even bigger hole, by creating programs that will provide up to $2 trillion of credit to financial institutions that purchase toxic assets from banks or securities backed by consumer loans. The Fed’s generous terms are expected to generate a flurry of speculation which will help strengthen the banking system while leaving the taxpayer to bear the losses.  It is impossible to know what the long-term effects of Bernanke’s excessive spending will be, but his plan has the potential to trigger hyperinflation or spark a run on the dollar.

Bernanke’s zero-percent interest rates, multi-trillion dollar lending facilities and bank bailouts do not fit within the Fed’s narrow mandate of "price stability and full employment." With unemployment soaring to 8.5 percent and increasing at a rate of 650,000 per month (with 15 percent under-employed) it is a wonder that Bernanke hasn’t been fired already. There are also myriad problems with Bernanke’s lending facilities which are nothing more than a crafty way of transferring wealth from the Fed to private industry via low interest loans. The Central Bank is not supposed to "pick winners" as it is blatantly doing through its market-distorting facilities. Businesses outside the financial sector cannot exchange their downgraded garbage with the Fed for semi-permanent, rotating loans; so why should underwater investment banks and hedge funds get special treatment? The facilities represent a gift to financial institutions giving them an unfair advantage in the marketplace.

I had never really dotted the I’s or crossed the T’s on TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) until I came across a blog posting called "A clue" this morning on a site emanating, evidently, from ex-pats in France called No Pasaran. 

The author, going by the name of Georges, surely sounds French enough and writes British English, but he provides a fresh perspective on TARP and the banks that got me thinking. In turn, Georges is merely elevating the argument begun by Stuart Varney in the Wall Street Journal about how "Obama Wants to Control the Banks" with the logical conclusion that controlling banks means controlling social results–funneling the money to one’s supporters and voters.

Let me add some conclusions to Georges’s thoughts. In his piece, he refers to the "conjured" $700 billion used for TARP, and "conjured" is certainly the right word–the money was simply printed, created out of ether, so to speak. There’s no accounting for it, to my knowledge, in the federal budget or in any other government budget.

In other words, when this "conjured" money is paid back (if Obama allows it to be paid back, as Varney notes), it becomes real money that the government can then spend as it sees fit–which will no doubt be on looney, left-leaning "entitlement" programs to produce real, not "conjured," votes for the Demofiends and Obama. Governmental money laundering, in other words, all in the name of saving the economy.
