Russian dictator and Demofiend fellow traveler Vladimir Putin yesterday weighed in on Iraq, whose invasion he opposed from the git-go, saying that a pullout schedule should be drawn up so there can be national reconciliation in that Middle Eastern country.
Now, even I will grant that this argument has some merit. To wit, either the Iraqi government can get its act together and handle its own affairs or it can’t. Therefore, it’s sink-or-swim time for Iraq. This is a valid argument. I don’t necessarily agree with it, not toally anyway, but that’s not the issue.
The issue is American power, and neither the Demofiends in Congress nor Putin in Russia wants America to have any power or to use any power on the world stage. They both favor in a huge way the castration of American power.
That’s the scary part, and it’s also the same reason that Putin should just shut up and try to implement democracy back home before he talks about it around the world. His viewpoint has no legitimacy.
As for the Demofiends, they’ve always preferred caving into dictators and communistic world schemes than challenging them. It may be because the Demofiends and dictators have a lot in common. Now, what a discerning thought.

It’s about time some hot-headed, arrogant, overpaid professional athlete got his comeuppance (why can’t the same thing happen to arrogant Demofiends?).
I’m speaking here of Ugueth Urbina, professional baseball pitcher who yesterday (March 28) was sentenced to 14 years in prison for attacking five people with a machete in his homeland of Venezuela. Charge: attempted murder.
The lawyer for the prosecution, who is not quoted in the sole article I could find on the Web but was on ESPN, said something to the effect that (my paraphrased words) “this shows all rich and powerful people that they’re not above the law.”
I only wish that were the case. Here, however, fame, bucks and celebrity will get you out of any conviction. Just ask Robert Blake and O.J. Simpson.

The European Union celebrated the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome on March 25. To mark the event, 27 heads of government gathered in Berlin, ostensibly to sign a declaration reaffirming the union’s values and outlining future goals. Disputes over the document’s text, however, proved so divisive that in order to avoid embarrassing refusals the leaders were not even asked to sign it. Meanwhile, the ceremonies were so dull that many officials wandered off into the streets of Berlin well before they concluded.
Europhobes point to such apathy as a perfect example of how Europe has failed. The union, they say, has no future if European presidents and prime ministers cannot even stay in a room long enough to commemorate the union’s golden anniversary — much less sign what in essence was a birthday card. Europhiles look at the same picture and turn it on its head. They argue that the union is so successful and its core features — peace in Europe and a rich common market — so entrenched that high-level attention is hardly needed.
Who’s right?

Okay, the Demofiends get a day off (maybe). The Fed has once again shows us how to artificially inflate the economy and then unceremoniously pop the bubble while blaming it on other people. First, we had the Dot-Com Bubble of the late 1990s, which crashed with the new millennium. Then, we had the housing boom/bubble, which is right now deflating before our very eyes.
Let’s see, Alan Greenspan brought us two painful recessions and two painful bubble burstings, and the man is celebrated? (The jury is still out on Ben Bernanke, but it seems like business as usual at the Fed.)
Maybe our clue here is that the Demofiends actually supported and loved Greenspan. That should’ve been our first warning.

Iran is at it again. Whenever the nation feels cornered, it takes it out on innocent bystanders, namely Westerners. This time it captured 15 British sailors in what it claims were Iranian waters but which the British adamantly maintain were Iraqi waters.
This serves, of course, as a warning shot to the West that Iran won’t give up its plan to build nuclear weaponry. However, will it deter Israel from reprising its attack on Iraq that took out that nation’s burgeoning nuclear capability?

Those two terms–Demofiend and governing–are of course contradictory, at least in the current political reality of Washington, D.C. Now all this can change if they get a Demofiend, either St. Hillary or King Obama, to stink up the White House in 2009.
However, for now governing means one thing: “Get Bush.”
That’s the reality behind the current brouhaha over the firing of some federal prosecutors by Bush and company.
The Demofiends’ dirty little secret….

A man who worked for the firm that designed Barbak Obama’s Web site has fessed up to creating the Big Brother Hillary Clinton video that YouTube first published and I posted here two days ago.
I’d say hats off and kudos to Philip de Vellis, who resigned from Blue State Digital to avoid any embarrasment for client Obama, whom de Vellis ardently supports (evidently).
Now, other than his choice of presidential candidates, I’d say de Vellis has done a great public service in portraying St. Hillary in the proper light as a demogogue in the wings. Let’s keep her and Obama permanently off stage come election time. Otherwise, 2008 will be like 1984.
