Left-Hated ‘Surge’ Must Be Working

I live at the fringe of Los Angeles County and just a couple of miles from the Orange County Line, and thus the only newspaper I can get home delivered is the completely left-deluded Los Angeles Times.  I’d prefer the Orange County Register for truth’s sake, but they’re smart enough in Santa Ana not to cross the sanity demarcation line.

However cursed I may be in having to subscribe to the L.A. rag, one byproduct is good:  I can tell how well Bush’s policies are working by the headlines on page one of the L.A. Times.

Case in point:

The president’s recent “surge” in Baghdad-based troops, which was even censured by the House of Representatives:  From reading the Times‘s page one headlines (lord help me if I ever succumb to reading the so-called stories), I’ve concluded that the surge is working.

For instance, on any given Sunday for the past two-plus years, the newspaper’s top story (on any given day for that matter) would be a body count from Iraq.  This Sunday (Feb. 25, 2007), the leftist editors at the downtown rag were so desperate that they ran an article on people lining up to become U.S. citizens!

Now, without going into the irony of people’s lining up to become citizens of the most embarrassing and evil nation in the world (L.A. Times‘s and liberals’ viewpoint), this means that the violence has ebbed or disappeared in Iraq.

Now, will we ever see a story that the surge is working?

Not on your life.  Reality is routinely denied–or rather, recreated–at newspapers like the L.A. Times.  Sad but true.
